The trail is snow free below 3300 ft. above that there is a light dusting, and then above 3500 the snow has accumulated 1-6" deep, depending on exposure.
I was very surprised by how lightly used this trail is, given that it is in excellent shape and is a great training hike. For a Sunday, at 7:15 AM, I was the only vehicle at the trailhead. I didn't see any other hikers until the afternoon. They were starting up as I was heading down.
I met the Little Ranger Peak trail, my goal at 10:43 AM, having made one snack stop and a few stops for photos on the way up.
Considering it was raining cats and dogs in the Puget Sound area, I was delighted to stay in the rain shadow and under tree cover until I gained the ledge, at which point there was snow. However, the clouds then parted for the late morning, early afternoon, with a glorious blue sky to highlight the fresh snow.
