  • Scrambling

We scrambled Teneriffe on 4/9/2016, gaining 4,000’ in about 7 hours. The trail from Kamikaze Falls to Serendipity Ridge is getting more and more civilized each time I go there. We encountered snow at about 3,600’, though the rock step at 3,800’ and the summit rock were bare. Beautiful weather and a congenial group made for a most enjoyable day, only partly spoiled by finding my car had been towed on return to trailhead. Further scramblers encountering hordes at the parking area might consider an approach by the route described by this WTA report: http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/trip-reports/trip_report.2016-04-08.9295001227. Our scouts reported the section of this path where it comes to the creek below Kamikaze Falls is well defined and clear of brush.
