  • Trail to the chimneys is very well trodden.  Chimneys are completely snow free and offer great scrambling.   There is one class 4 section of the chimneys that we are glad we could rap on the way down.  Winnie's slide and Hells Highway were in great shape and look much steeper than they are.  The summit block still had a small patch of steep snow, it was very icy in the morning ~7am, but by the time we descended it we were post holing.

Drove up to the TH Saturday morning and starting hiking at around 930.  We got to the first chimney at round 1130.   From here we ascended the very hot chimneys until we reached the white salmon glacier and winnie's slide.  We roped up and protected this section and arrived at an amazing bivy by 1530.  We awoke at 500 and were moving by 530, we reached the summit at around 830.  The descent to camp took till 1130 in no great hurry, and we were at the cars by 6.
