Trip Report

Mount Rainier/Fuhrer Finger

The route across the Nisqually glacier was straight forward. Some crevasses where starting to open up with the warm temps. The Finger it's self was great for front pointing and in great shape. About a dozen skiers ski it the day before. It was a warm period and we saw large rocks coming down in the dark before the sun came up. With that we decided to turn around at 12K to get back through the danger zone and back to high camp. We elected not to do a carry over. The bridges on the Nisqually were soft on the return by late morning.
