Trip Report

Mount Pilchuck/East Ridge

The plan was to do the east route, but with a steady rain falling at Verlot, the general consensus was to make a shorter day of it by doing the standard trail route. There was still plenty of snow, so it certainly counted as a snow scramble for student credit. The weather was not so bad; periods of rain, but sometimes dry with sunbreaks. No views, though. Snow conditions were pretty good for a few glissades; a few of the transitions between rock and snow were a little awkward, as the rock was wet. All in all, though, a good day.
