Lucked out on the weather with rain in morning turning to sunshine on the way back down. Left cars at ~9am with first gain to summit involving practice on setting a maintainable pace for long periods. Left summit at ~noon and boogied to reach Mountain Lake Boat Ramp via west shore at ~1pm. Left trail at ~1940' (due south of small 2200' contour) for cross country map/compass practice to False Summit. Used NE bearing to regain trail, and boogied to reach cars by 4pm with lots of time to make 5:15pm ferry. Pictures by Tom Girard can be seen here:
