A moderate snowshoe trip with enough challenge, a little route-finding, under current snow conditions.

The powder snow was lovely, albeit slippery on the sometimes breakable crust. This made the steep downhill from the high point above the lifts to the saddle near Beaver Lake  (and the PCT) tricky, adding a little adventure to an otherwise straightforward trip. We opted to loop back through the ski area, carefully avoiding groomed areas. The low density of skiers and snowboarders made this unproblematic, particularly since we split up the party of 10 into 3 clusters.

Trip length about 6 hours, good lunch break at Lodge Lake. PCT currently has a broken trail in this section. Existing route description and stats are right on.
