Lichtenwasser Lake

Successful journey this time to Lichtenwasser Lake, with a strong and capable crew. We were able to locate a good log for crossing Smithbrook at about 3700' just off the road, then contoured up towards the stream junction area. From this point, we headed up with increasing steepness along the "shoulder-ette" that is immediately east of the outflow creek. Snow conditions alternated between crust and lots of powder. We assessed carefully for avi conditions along the way, but no concerning signs at all were noted on this north aspect. Lake was pretty, but kinda windy, so did not linger long there. Snow on tree bridge crossing on way back had actually hardened up, and so was a "piece of cake" on our return journey. Followed by that long road walk back out to vehicles.
