Trip Report

Intermediate Snowshoe - Pratt Vista

An enjoyable snowshoe to a viewpoint.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Trail was snow covered. The lower half had very little snow.

We hike up the Pratt Lake trail to the trail junction of the trail to Talapus Lake and Olallie Lake. We then put on the snowshoes. We continued on the Pratt Lake trail to about 4200 foot level. At that point we snowshoed up to the ridge. We followed the ridge to the 4520' where the views open up. Views were somewhat limited by the clouds, but included the Pratt River valley, Lower Pratt Mountain and the mountains south of I-90. Overall a good snowshoe.
