Intermediate Snowshoe - Amabilis Mountain

nice trip. Good, strong, prepared group. Well organized by leader. I think the mileage is closer to 10 miles (not 8) based on caltopo map website Thanks to Bryan for leading this great trip!

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • The first 1000' (of elevation) the logging road was well packed and we carried our snowshoes (didn't need to use them).

    After the first major intersection (where the route splits into two different routes) we had to use snowshoes. Breakable crust, sink in a few inches. Not as effortless as the first 1000' but not too bad either.

We had a nice spring day, some sun....actually had to put on some sunscreen!

Some confusion as to where the "true" summit is.....it really didn't matter  as we all had a really good time!
