Intermediate Alpine Climb - Concord Tower/North Face

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • New trail to Liberty Bell gully is great and well marked, especially lower down.

    At the T, the left turn takes you to the bottom of the Concord buttress and the beginning of the gully, within 1 minute.

    With patchy snow/ice in the gully, going far left was preferable/feasible.

    Liberty Bell looked dry (checked the first pitch tunnel), but it started snowing, and concern about descending the gully in snow/rain caused us to turn around.

    Hiked to Blue Lake for the first time instead, which was remarkably busy, probably because of larches.
