Trip Report

Ingalls Peak/South Ridge

Trip took place Aug 19. Route is in great condition, group of six went car to car in 12 hours. Quite windy at times at the high exposed places on the route.
A 60 meter rope is just short of being able to make it cleanly on the 2nd rappel. If you stretch it out ALL the way to skiers' left you can make it to an easier down climb than on skiers' right, though both are doable. The down climb on the right is a bit exposed.
On the approach we came directly up the gully from the lake, but found a more pleasant way down through the gully on skiers' right on the descent. This gully took a little route finding and I'm not sure it was necessarily faster, but was much less tedious than picking through the loose scree.
Two other parties on route, but all were friendly and willing to share belay/rappel stations.
