Date: Aug 16 2014
Weather: Cloudy & foggy, 70F
Trail in very good shape, considering unmaintained. (No NW Forest Pass req'd at trailhead.)
We traversed S shore of lake on boulder fields. Took first gully up to Pear Lake. Took a wet, mossy gully from E shore of Pear Lake, near outlet - this was the most difficult part of trip - wet mossy rocks, transitioning to steep, wet heather. Almost 100% snow-free. Attained ridge above / directly E of Pear Lake, and crossed over ridge (thick trees).
Traversed E side of ridge (easy / non-technical). Go past major notch, then hug E side of pinnacle to reach bootpath to summit (easy). Very foggy; no views.
There is no technical rock on route. This time of year, most difficult part of trip is steep heather; rating would be about S3/S4-T2.
Round trip time: 9.5 hrs.
