We backpacked three days on the Hoh River Trail in Olympic National Park. We enjoyed the magnificent trees, mosses and other epiphytes everywhere, a bark-ripping treed bear within 20 feet of the trail, and a side trip to One Square Inch of Silence (http://onesquareinch.org/ ). We camped at pleasant Five Mile Camp. On our middle day, we day hiked to the Olympus Ranger Station and lunched on the nearby Hoh River gravel bar with its views of the Bailey Range. Despite being in a rain forest, the skies were sunny and the temperatures pleasantly warm. A fun trip with a fun group.
