Hike - 5,050 Pass, Valhalla Peak from Dosewallips
Gorgeous views in all directions, with absence of snow turning this winter scramble into a very strenuous hike (~5000’ gain).

Brought micro-spikes but did not use them for the few frosty patches here and there. Clear and very cold weather (plus light winds) made for a relatively short summit stay in spite of multiple puffy jacket layers.
A great day in the mountains with sunlight filtering through the trees on our very steep ascent from the Dosewallips parking area. With the absence of snow, the boot track from 5050 Pass to the summit of Point 5345 (a.k.a Valhalla) made this a nice hike instead of our originally planned winter scramble. Total time was ~6.5 hours, with ~3.5 hours for the ascent from the cars to the summit. Photos from this and other trips to this venue can be seen here.
