Route was in outstanding condition and followed what is usually the standard route. Boot path was getting wiped out for the most part about 3000ft up from Camp Schurman and was scoured hard pack snow but suitable for crampons, no ice. A few crevasses to zig zag around.
Memorial day weekend, party of 6, successful summit. Day 1 hiked to Camp Schurman, Day 2 rest, Day 3 summit and back to cars.
Started around 11:30pm and took our time with a slow pace. Took 9 hours to summit. 20mph winds almost all the way, clear skys with freezing level around 12,000. Soft snow first couple thousand feet then scoured hardpack on from 3000ft up to the false summit. Easy going after that. 5 hours back to camp, slushy snow but postholing not too bad.
2 hours rest, lunch and packing up at camp. 4 hours back to the cars with a 3000ft glissade from Steamboat Prow to the basin.
