French Cabin Mountain/West Peak

3/8/15. In this winter of exceptionally low snow, we were able to drive to the trailhead and didn't find any snow until we entered the valley at 3600 feet. We had compact snow and ice all the rest of the way until we left the ridge at 5300 feet. Microspikes were essential. From 5300 to the ridge the face faces SW and had largely melted off. We saw only scattered patches of thin snow. Glorious views from the summit. 11 hours round trip.
