First time going to Bowman Bay and I was amazed at how many variety of birds we saw! Below is a list of just some of what we saw while walking the trails on a very cold, windy, and damp day.
A coyote (within 10 feet of us)
- Robins
- Crows
- Anna's Hummingbirds
- Spotted Towhee
- Song Sparrows
- Several pairs of Goldfinches
- House Finch
- Three types of Swallows and a Swift
- A nesting Osprey
- An active Bushtit nest
- Several Killdears
- Canada Geese
- Half a dozen Bald Eagles (one juvenile)
- Pairs of Red-Winged Black Birds
- Great Blue Herons
- A male Shoveler and a single duckling (no sighting of female or other ducklings)
- Spotted Sandpiper
- Gadwells
- Downy Woodpeckers
- Black-capped and Chesnut-Backed Chickadees
- Bewicks Wrens
- Yellow-Throat Warbler
