Duwamish Waterway

Paddling into the sunrise through an almost hypnotic surface of glazed, undulating water was a great way to start the day. I drive by the Port several times a week and until I was there at the water's surface, gawking up at the cranes, container ships and colossal heaps of materials, I didn’t appreciate the scale of things. Wow! This trip provided an adventurous contrast between the aforementioned “big” and the “little” ... that is, the little clearance between the water’s surface and the bottom of the railroad bridge. But, no problem for this intrepid group.

Thanks, Mike, for leading this picturesque urban paddle.
