Day Hike - West Tiger Mountain No. 1

Good conditioner with a nice view for dinner.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • There were a number of muddy, rooty stretches that required care. Otherwise the trail was in good shape with erosion in a few places. We hiked the old route. But reroutes are in progress and look ready to open soon.

This was one of the more ambitious  after-hour hikes we have done so far this year. Everyone did great. There was general excitement at the Hikers Hut as the view has not often been visible in the past. No need to hide in the hut from the wind.  A lovely viewpoint for our dinner break. On the way down we found Wild ginger just beginning to bloom.
