Day Hike - The Arboretum, Interlaken Park & Volunteer Park
Good company, great views all directions and no rain until back at cars -- not bad for a rainy week. Four parks in 2 1/2 hours, a classic Seattle stairwalk in the heart of the Olmstead vision for Seattle parks.

Muddy at the start but good trail through Interlaken. No blow down. No sketchy, after dark activity noted. Plenty of on-street parking at TH.
Full house, a dozen city hikers took 2 1/2 hours to complete the 4 mile walk -- reminder to trip leaders that many street crossings and stairs in the dark extend trip time a half hour beyond solo scouting route check. High point is a both visual and elevational after 106 stairs up the Volunteer Park water tower. Early spring is a good time before the deciduous trees leaf out. Recommend Seattle Walks (2017) to trip leaders wanting more background on Volunteer Park and Olmstead plan. The GAR Cemetery is a gem with a unique and sobering look back to the great test of our country as a union of states.
