The FS road 6520 was in great shape and no evidence of small fire that caused temporary closure. The trail is a little overgrown but in good shape. There are 4 trees fallen across the trail that are fairly easy to climb over, under or go around. Only a couple small snow fields remain.
Parking is tight so plan to carpool and arrive early. Permits are self-issued at sign-in a short distance up the trail.
The wild flowers were in full bloom on the flank of Scorpion Mountain. Conditions were perfect and the views were astounding!
