Day Hike - Ridge & Gravel Lakes

PCT north from Snoqualmie Pass to Ridge and Gravel Lakes via Kendall Katwalk.

  • Excellent day, perfect weather, ideal trail conditions.  

Started on trail at 8:10, hiked to Kendall Katwalk, kept going up to Ridge Lake, went down the hill to Gravel Lake for lunch.  Lots of camp sites at Gravel Lake and lots of people camping for the holiday weekend, most on their way out.  Trails through campsites down to the lake are a little gnarly but there is good visibility making group management easy.  Left the lake around 1:15pm, made it back to the cars before 5:00pm.  15 miles/3000ish cumulative gain.  Relatively easy albeit long hike.

We saw several picas and one really fat marmot.  I’ve never seen a marmot in this area.
