Trip Report

Day Hike - Pratt River Connector

Enjoyable river walk to beat the heat.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail is in pretty good shape but varies along the way.  In some places it is rocky, in others quite brushy and in spots it is just perfect - flat and wide, and soft with forest duff. There was some mud, surprising as we have had so little rain. I imagine there is a lot of mud in cooler seasons.

We changed from our original destination due to extremely high temperatures. The trailhead was 7 degrees cooler than town. We hit occasional cool spots as we hiked along the river. The river temperature was perfect for wading. One hiker took a swim.

There was plenty of parking and very few other hikers.
