Point Defiance is well maintained with signs everywhere and a very popular spot for people. Be prepared to see runners, people walking and other hikers on the trail.
Met at the duck pond near the entrance to Point Defiance. After everyone introducing themselves and Terry explaining the plan/route. We set off in a 5 1/2 mile hike following the dark blue trail (you'll have to look at the map to find out which one that is).
The great thing about this hike is that it is close to Tacoma, with plenty of parking and several facilities (bathrooms, picnic tables) along the trail. There are some beautiful views and during summer you will come across other people along the trail either running, hiking or just walking.
Great hike, love the convenience and ease of it. I look forward to more.
