Day Hike - Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

Combination photography & naturalist trip to the refuge.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles


I saw a muscrat (swimming across the pond at the visitor's center), Canada geese, cackling geese, swallows, gulls, cormorants, bald eagles, great blue herons, golden-crown kinglets (around a dozen of them), red-winged blackbird pairs, cinnamon teals, shovelers, wigeons, robins, ringed neck ducks and some other small birds.

Photos are beautiful. Love the swimming muskrat sighting. You all really persevered in that rain. Thanks for sharing.
