Trail was in its normal, great condition. Dry and smooth. No snow. More like spring conditions. The gate is locked until April when the Forest Service hires their summer help. The 2 older privies between the 2 summits are locked. The 2 newer ones were open and in good shape.
The hike was advertised as a conditioner. Since we had a couple of Basic climbing students with us we decided to set a good baseline for outdoor activities which included leaving a trip plan with a responsible person, having the 10 essentials, establishing a MOFA for the group and reporting to them any medical concerns. Other subjects discussed included nutrition, hydration, clothing, pace, and endurance training.
The weather was just fantastic. A nice welcomed weather window between showers. Encountered light rain at the end of the second lap. Nice and timely!
