Day Hike - Mount Teneriffe

Made a 12 mile loop that was fun and interesting and not crowded.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • We went up from the new Teneriffe trailhead to the Mt. Si connector.  clear of snow until about 4000'.  Once in the snow, it was still easy walking since it was thin and soft.  Once we hit the Si connector, there was about 12" on the trail but it was pretty hard and we did fine with just boots.  Once on Si, we used microspikes to go down due to the pounded in snow on the trail.  We cut off on the old trail and reconnected to main trail at the bend.  We stayed with the crowds going down then took the Talus Loop trail back to the Teneriffe trail.  About 12 miles and easy going most of the way.
