Day Hike - Mount Si Old Trail

Cold day, with rain and snow. Gusty winds as we reached higher elevations. Lots of hikers from boeings climbing program. Stayed together as a group- both up and down

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  • The trail was good. We hit snow 2 miles into the trail. Mix of fresh snow, slushy snow. consolidated to icy snow near the haystack. Lots of water running down, made the trail really slushy at lower elevations,

Parked in the parking lot. Lots of cars packed already. Boeing had their basic climbing conditioning hike on the same day. We clocked 2.24 minutes. We stayed together as group, irrespective of the conditioning differences we had among each other. 

Ghusty winds and rain and snow didn't bring the group morale down.
