Trip Report

Day Hike - Lower Lena Lake

Started at 8:30. Few cars in parking area, privy in good shape. Snow on the trees, but trail is clear.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

Arrived this morning at 8:30 to 3 other vehicles in the lot. It had snowed the night before so the trees were beautiful, but no snow on the trail. The wood bridges are slippery with snow and a bit of ice. The only large tree across the trail about a mile in has been removed. Thank you to the trail crew! We saw a few Trillium, some glacier Lilly’s and another low flowering bush with bright pink flowers.

Our group made good time, with 4:18 car to car. We went past the overlook to the far end of the lake.

Returning to the car, we ran into quite a few people who were on their way up to the lake and the parking lot was pretty full.

The privy at the parking lot is in good shape, but bring your own TP just in case.
