Trip Report

Day Hike - Far Country Falls

A pleasant hike in the woods with a view (Far Country Lookout) and a little water (Far Country Falls and Coal Creek Falls).

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail was well marked and maintained. It's a good idea to bring a map given the number of intersections present. There are some roots and rocks though nothing bad.

We had no issue parking in the evening. We did a loop that started with us heading toward Far Country Lookout. The trails were well marked and had no issue reaching it. Far Country Lookout provided a small bench for taking in the view. Afterward, we made our way to Far Country Falls. Far Country Falls was dried out and we didn't notice, as in see or hear, any moving water. We then made our way to Coal Creek Falls (pictured). Coal Creek Falls was a trickle though still pleasant. Overall the hike was very pleasant though based on the current state of the falls it would appear that the best time to view them for their water flow would be earlier in the year.
