CHS 1 Hike - Norse Peak

Two leaders and ten participants enjoyed an amazing hike to Norse Peak. Highlights included a super flower bloom and twice seeing a herd of goats, over 30 in numbers.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The information on location of the trail head and parking in the 2007 edition of the Mountaineers Snoqualmie guide book is incorrect. The correct information may be found on the WTA.org webpage for Norris Peak.

Trail was well marked and in good shape.

The parking area had a lot of room at 8:45 am. One horse trailer was noted. There are no restroom facilities at this trail head. NW Forest pass was required.

To reach the trail  head you cross the road and walk up the gravel road a short distance to the trail head. We are not sure that this distance is included in the trip mileage.

Wild flower bloom was exceptional. As we came up to the ridge we saw a large herd of goats, counting over 30.

We met one rider on horse back, with an additional horse in tow as we made our way up.

Two woman were at the peak when we arrived. They had come up from a different trail head.

Views were spectacular!

We met several hikers coming up as we descended. The parking area was full and some cars had parked on the gravel road.
