CHS 1 Hike - Kendall Katwalk

A great hike to Kendall Katwalk/Ridge & Gravel Lake. There had been several weeks of WTA trip reports siting downed trees and snow but we were fortunate that the snow had melted and the trees had been removed.

A very strong CHS 1 hiking group completed this 14 mile trip in 7.5 hours, including lunch at Ridge Lake, several equipment and clothing adjustments, and short rests for regrouping. There was concern about thunder and lightning that had been forecast but this too changed and we dealt with a light drizzle briefly. The low visibility persisted and we did not get any great views. After the hike we stopped at the North Bend Bar and Grill, which we highly recommend. They seated our party of 10 quickly and welcomed our requests for separate checks. Several members commented on how good their food was.
