Busywild Overlook/Lower Snopark

6Feb2016 We had a very pleasant snowshoe to Busywild overlook. Parked at snoPark 10T 0571286 5182153, and headed to overlook 10T 0573112 5182692. The waypoints on this site's map were not correct. The trail follows a rolling logging road along a ridge. At the well signed overlook junction, we found untracked snow leading another 1.89km to the overlook at 3.7 km. The final 200m crossed three small streams with hopping, climbing, and long stepping. Nice variety to the logging roads. In the distance the mountains north of Mt. Rainier could be seen through the brush and small trees described by Brian Carpenter. The photo shows the overlook. Snow on the trees and animal tracks added wild points of interest to the snowshoe. Our tour took some 6 hours of driving up from Ashford and return.
