Beginner Snowshoe - Reflection & Louise Lakes

Insufficient snow at Narada Falls and limited snow at Reflection Lakes. Diverted to Paradise, where snow was also not deep, but allowed us to complete a snowshoe trip.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Led a snowshoe trip on 11/24/17. Diverted from Reflection and Louise Lakes due to low snow conditions. Narada Falls didn't have much snow even around the parking lot.

Instead, took team to Glacier Vista and then down via Skyline Trail down around Edith Creek and the associated falls.

Snow depth was at at maximum 36 inches. In some areas it was blown almost completely clear of rock and heather. A pretty strong crust everywhere. Frankly, if we'd all had Micro Spikes, we wouldn't have really needed snowshoes.

Although the snow depth was shallow, it was a fun day and we got in a short, but somewhat strenuous hike.

No problem with roads.  Too little snow for effective snowshoeing.  Recommend waiting until we've gotten another storm or two to add to the snow base.
