Beginner Snowshoe - Reflection Lakes

Excellent trip. temperature, snow conditions, strong individuals, all made for a fun and fulfilling outing.

  • Snow and ice on road
  • big amount of powdery snow, clear and packed down 'rut' to follow, clear skies. went to edge of bench above Lake Louise for lunch, could see all the way to Spokane (kidding). no issues with streams.

collected everyone at meeting spot, used two vehicles to drive to trip. road in Mt. Rainier National Park covered in snow/ice all the way to Narada Falls. got to Longmire just before gate opened at 9:00 AM. Proceeded un-eventualy to Narada Falls parking. Followed the road around Inspiration Point (through avalanche area without issue) and onto Reflection Lake. At Reflection Lake by 11:30 AM. We decided to go to the bench overlooking Lake Louise. Had lunch. came back and took trail over ridge to Narada Falls. some confusion on route reaching Paradise Valley road back to starting point. no issues, all personnel made it back to cars at the same time.
