Trip Report

Basic Snowshoe - Olallie Lake

A party of seasoned veterans snowshoed to Olallie Lake, gaining 2.100’ in a little under 6 hours round trip.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

The trailhead and first ¼ mile of trail was snow free.  Thereafter, the trail was compacted snow till the turn off to Ollalie Lake, with only a trace of new snow on top.  We saw no other party on this weekday and only a couple of scattered tracks at the Lake.  Wind was strong in the treetops and some snow flurries started while we were at the lake.  Just a few drops of rain were falling as we returned to the cars.
