Basic Rock Climb - Liberty Bell/Southwest Face

Classic climb. Great day.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Approach trail is in good shape. Gully up to the climb is almost completely free of any lingering snow patches, which are all easily avoidable in approach shoes.

Climb is good as ever. Fairly cold this Friday while still being comfortable after you got moving. Just under 8 hours car to car with two BMC students following. This climb can be difficult for BMC students who are newer to rock climbing  but this team dispatched the physical and interesting movement with relative ease. We climbed with two single ropes and skinnier ropes would have been nice.

Shortly after we got back to the car it started to rain, with the rain becoming hard for most of the drive home. Great way to get in a basic climb with a marginal forecast across the region this weekend.
