Basic Alpine Climb - South Early Winter Spire/South Arête

An enjoyable climb with great students. We had the route to ourselves.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Route is in great shape as of this writing.

    All three (two trees, one bolted) rappel anchors are solid.

    No water on approach, nor on route.

NW Forest Pass or America the Beautiful National Parks pass required to park at Blue Lake Trailhead.

Protected first move of route (crux) with 0.5 and 0.75 BD camalots.

Setup handline across "whale back" feature.
