Basic Alpine Climb - Ingalls Peak/South Ridge

We had 2 rope leaders and 4 basic students. We used a rope teams of 1 leader and two followers and it worked out just well. Everyone made it to the summit efficiently.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

  •  The road is closed about 1.1 mi from the trailhead due to washout repairs. Seems like the repairs are almost done but the road opening date is unknown. So plan for extra 2 miles for this trip.

    There is still plenty of snow on the approach and in the basin. We didn't bring crampons, but I would highly advise them. It would speed up the approach early in the morning when the snow is still hard.

    Overall the route is in a great shape.
