Trip Report

Basic Alpine Climb - Cutthroat Peak/West Ridge

We successfully summited Cuthroat but took much longer than expected. Lots of loose and crumbling rock on the ridge and on the climb. We finished the final rappel with the light fading which forced us to navigate the steep talus and scree field in the dark which took a significant amount of time.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Trail was in decent shape up into the meadow. Navigating up to the ridge crest was non-trivial with some skill required in navigating the scree and talus fields and various gulleys.
