Aurora Peak (winter)

Report for 2/17/2013 trip. Consolidated riders at Storm King Ranger Station (heated bathrooms) for short ride to Aurora Creek Trail pullout (unmarked trailhead that is 2.6 miles west of the highway 101 turnoff to the ranger station). Trail is in great shape until obscured by snow higher up. West side of Aurora Creek ridge crest had hard snow while east side (just a few feet away) had wallowing snow, likely due to strong winds out of the west. Made for interesting route finding along crest around ~3800'. Photos can be seen at:
