Alpine Scramble - Trappers Peak

This is a "gentle" 3500' gain trip with a nice summit block in the last half-mile. Great views and rock. In case of wetness, there are several social bypass trails to the harder portions. The summit is huge, and can accommodate a lot of people.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Start at the Thornton Lake TH and follow that trail to about mile 4. Then, take the right fork and follow the ridge up to the huge summit. Scrambling is in the last half-mile or so. In case of wetness, there are several social bypass trails to the harder portions. The rather steady rain and dense smoke from wildfires prevented complete enjoyment of this peak. It was still a great workout.
