Alpine Scramble - Navaho Peak

Scramble route to the summit with a loop taking the trail back down

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Trail and route almost entirely snow free. No ice axes or traction devices needed.

We took the trail up about 3.5 miles to the creek drainage at 4400ft. From there we headed up open slopes staying on the west side of the creek. Once past the cliff bands we found an easy creek crossing and angled up NE, aiming for the SE ridge of Navaho Peak. Once at the saddle we had great views with some incoming weather, including light snow flurries. We walked up the ridge to the summit of Navaho, then took the standard trail back down.

Large group of 10 people, who all successfully reached the summit. Great views of the Enchantments!
