The scramble loop, North from Lake Melakwa, definitely passes over much boldery terrain and loose scree/dirt, with which you should be comfortable to enjoy the adventure. Nothing too steep, but loose rocks do bring risk, and traveling over this route requires attention and care. Otherwise pure fun.
Flying ants do own the summit this month, otherwise pleasant conditions along the route.
