Alpine Scramble - Howard Peak & Tolmie Peak

The area is gorgeous with a wide range of scrambling conditions, ranging from open meadows, ridge walks, some nasty brush-bashing, and occasional good rock. The wildflowers were phenomenal. The route that we took (starting at Mowich Lake and ending at Mowich Lake) is quite long and exhausting (12 hours car to car). A far better way to repeat this set of peaks (Tolmie, Howard, Rust, Alki, and Florence) would be to organize a key exchange where one group starts at Mowich Lake and ends at Carbon River and the other group starts at Carbon River and ends at Mowich, exchanging car keys at the mid-point.
