White Bluffs, Hanford Reach & South Slope

White Bluffs - Hanford Reach - South Slope is an easy, 10 mile in-and-out day hike with 530 ft in elevation gain. The trail descends through desert landscape to the shores of the Columbia River.

You will hike along different kinds of terrain - from shrub steppe to sandstone formations towering along the Columbia River to amazing patterns of clay/sand bluffs that line the valley. Barn swallows, coyotes, and different species of raptors reside on this great valley. On a good year, a palette of wildflowers carpet the desert floor.
