Hike 10 miles and 2,400 feet of elevation gain on the Pacific Crest Trail to visit an abandoned fire lookout site south of Stampede Pass.

From Stampede Pass, hike for 4 miles south on the Pacific Crest Trail, beginning with its intersection with a rough unnamed road south of Stampede Pass. The next 1 mile of the route follows a combination of boot paths, old roads and abandoned Cascade Crest Trail to an abandoned fire lookout site with expansive views (weather permitting).

As of 2017, the Snoqualmie Ranger District considers Mountaineers trips and courses to be "nominal use". Leaders should print and copy this designation letter to show rangers they may see on trail or carry a digital copy on their phone.
