Cramer Mountain Loop
A moderate, round trip or loop backpacking or day hiking trip of up to 14 miles and 2,200 feet of elevation gain. The trail takes you through scenic meadows with lakes, on the Pacific Crest Trail and around Cramer Mountain and past Cramer, Dumbbell and Buesch Lakes.
getting there
Drive to the Leech Lake or Dog Lake trailheads, both a short distance from SR 12, at the east end of White Pass. Note that parking at the Dog Lake Trailhead is limited.
on the trail
Hike along numerous lakes, endless meadows and stands of silver fir forests that dot this loop. Hike in-and-out along the Pacific Crest Trail, in-and-out on the Cramer Lake Trail, or the full loop, clockwise or counterclockwise, around Cramer Mountain. Good camps are at Dumbbell and Buesch Lakes. There are many good day hikes and backpacks of varying mileage and elevation gain that can be done here.
