Mount Tebo

Mount Tebo is a scramble of 6 miles with 2,600 feet of gain.

Driving Directions

Start at a 4-way intersection on Forest Road 200 in a pass at 1,973 ft. One can park here or attempt to drive to a washed out (as of 2012) spur road on the north side of the road at about 2,620 ft.

Ascent Route

Walk this road to about 3,400 ft, where an unmaintained roadway ascends the ridge to the northwest. Follow this unmaintained road to a low gap on the southwest ridge of Mount Tebo at about 3,720 ft. From the low gap, climb northeasterly on the southwest ridge to elevation 4,200 ft, then descend to the west to about 4,000 ft. Traverse at about this elevation until encountering an obvious drainage. There is a large isolated rock buttress at about 4,050 ft as you cross the divide into the drainage. The buttress can be passed to its right. Enter this drainage then from a small notch, scramble to the summit.
